10 Must Have New Android Apps For 2024

Storiaverse

If you’re a book junkie, you’ll love story apps like this one. You get to read well-crafted novels from different categories, ranging from science fiction (Sci-Fi) to thrillers and fantasy. I love how immersive it is with the animated cutscenes. Each one is up to 40 seconds long, and they help in the imagination department. You can visualize the world the authors have created.

The user interface is also easy to navigate. While read-watching a story, you can like it, save it to your library, or share a link with people on different platforms. The app has over 25 books, at the moment, and inside sources tell us that it’ll release new ones weekly.

Music

Audio streaming apps are everywhere, but you may not buy into the hype. If you’re an old soul who still likes to download and manage songs locally, this app is for you. I love Music’s simple interface. It has four main menus; Song, Artist, Album, and Folder.

Their functions are as the names imply, and the organization just makes it easy to browse through anything you’re in the mood for. The settings menu has only one option, and it lets you create a sleep timer, this way you don’t doze off with sound blasting in your ears.

4D Wallpaper: Fluid Simulation

This app uses simulations to create mesmerizing and relaxing fluid images. You can create a custom wallpaper for your home and lock screens. You determine what element to use, whether smoke, fire, or space dust, including adjusting the movement speed plus other factors.

The app has excessive ads, although they don’t appear on your phone’s screen after setting the wallpaper. I like that it’s generous with the offers. Although there are some wallpapers you have to pay for, the free ones are plenty.

Aquatrack

Most of your bodily functions require water. In fact, 60% of your weight is water. It’s why medical experts advise you to drink up to eight cups of it in a day. It sounds crazy, but it’s achievable when you time it right. Aquatrack helps you reach your daily hydration goal.

On your first interaction with the app, you’ll see a virtual cup and the recommended water intake. For the best results, enter your gender, weight, and activity level to get a personalized recommendation. Afterward, you just need to open the app. Then tap Add Water every time you have a glass of water to mark your progress.

Dub AI

Dub AI helps you break language barriers. You can translate videos to any dialect of choice. It also lets you type phrases and make subjects in videos say them. Technically, they’re not saying it. AI just makes them look that way when they’re really lipsyncing.

I had a fun time getting Donald Trump to admit that I’m awesome — and look like he meant it. However, the lip sync feature is premium, so I only got one free attempt.

Can I Park

As someone who’s never had to pay for parking, I’ve always found the Western system strange. There are all these traffic signs, and fines you want to avoid. It almost makes you happy you don’t own a vehicle. But if you do, this app helps you interpret all the confusing signs — especially if you’re a foreigner.

You’ll use your phone’s camera to scan them. Then the app makes interpretations. Basically, it’ll tell you when you can park at a spot, and for how long. If you can’t park there, it tells you why.

HD Movies

Most people have their attention on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other top movie streaming platforms. There are free alternatives, and one is right in the Google Play Store. I watched the Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) movie in full length and 4K resolution.

Not all movies on the app actually offer the resolution. Some of them, especially new releases, are HD Cam recorded. But the quality is good enough for you not to care.

For some reason, playback controls don’t work. So I tried not to close the app, or I’d have to start over. You don’t need an account to use the app, or pay a subscription.

BatterySmart

Most modern Android smartphones show you basic battery health information. You can see your percentage, and apps consuming power. But not all show you the battery health percentage and more in-depth analysis. It’s why you need an app like BatterySmart.

The app detects your battery capacity, voltage, temperature, and other related information from the moment you install it. It shows you if the numbers are indicative of good or bad health. You can even set alarms for certain actions. For example, the app will notify you when your battery is full or low, and also when your charger is disconnected.

Simulation games mimic real-life events and give you responsibility when you’re idle. This game gives you complete freedom as a store manager. You get to offload products from delivery trucks, place them on aisles, set prices, and handle a register. Your business succeeds depending on the decisions you make.

The gameplay is in first-person view, which can be disorienting if you’re used to seeing your character. But you can adjust the control sensitivity if the movement feels weird.

Neuron

Neuron is the right app for geeks or nerds. It filters science news from the worldly noise and brings it right to your screen. You can read the latest reports or choose from different categories, including psychology, Space, geology, and ecology.

You can also bookmark your favorite news and never lose sight of them. While reading, Neuron lets you adjust fonts for a comfortable experience. You can even turn on dark mode to protect your eyes. Plus, the app is completely free of subscriptions.

Kill time with the latest Play Store releases

New apps bring exciting features, but you may be hesitant to test them. It’s understandable, considering that not even the Google Play Store is above malware invasion. This year, it has removed many suspicious apps. It’s why you’d want to stick to the popular selections in the store. We’ve ranked the top 10 apps you shouldn’t do without in that category.
