LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A resident got scammed into handing over $14,000 in Bitcoin. Meanwhile, there was a spitting incident at a gas station. Also, there were numerous reports of damaged mailboxes on Gordon Drive in one day.
Those were some of the criminal incidents the Lower Makefield Township Police Department reported Thursday in its police blotter for the past week.

Aug. 16
IDENTITY THEFT —2300 block of Lakeview Drive, reported at 11:08 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) attempted to open credit cards in their name.
Aug. 14
DISORDERLY CONDUCT ARREST —Unit block of Oxford Valley Road at Shell Gas Station, reported at 9:59 a.m. The manager reported a customer entered the store, made a purchase, and spit in an employee’s face before exiting the store. A warrant was issued for a 37-year-old Levittown man for disorderly conduct and harassment.
IDENTITY THEFT —400 block of Prince William Court, reported at 12:20 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) opened two accounts in their name.
FRAUD —1200 block of Lexington Dive, reported at 7:29 p.m. The complainant reported falling victim to a scam on their computer which caused them to send $14,200 in Bitcoin to an unknown person.
DUI ARREST —Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 11:37 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 58-year-old Trenton, N.J., woman for driving under the influence.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —900 block of Roelofs Road, reported at 11:15 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) egged their vehicle.

FRAUD —1200 block Silver Stream Drive, reported at 10:59 a.m. The complainant reported an
unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.
RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Kohl’s, reported at 3:49 p.m. Police responded to the report of a retail theft in progress. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Bristol man for taking $1,440.22 worth of merchandise without paying.
