The refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the feature list, giving crossover buyers even greater infotainment support. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on all trim levels of the 2022 Chevy Traverse.
The 2022 Chevy Traverse introduces a mid-cycle enhancement (otherwise known as a refresh or facelift) for the Traverse nameplate, ushering in a long list of improvements and changes. The Traverse was originally set to receive a refreshed with the 2021 model year, but due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was delayed to the 2022 model year.
When paired with wireless device charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto makes for a truly cordless experience in terms of smartphone support infotainment. The 2022 Chevy Traverse was originally slated to offer wireless device charging as standard for all trim levels with the exception of the LS, however, due to the ongoing global microchip shortage, wireless device charging will only be offered on limited 2022 Chevy Traverse models.
Updates for the 2022 model year also include the addition of a number of safety technology features via the standard Chevy Safety Assist package. These features include (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
In addition, the 2022 Chevy Traverse adds GM’s Safety Alert Seat to the feature list, as well as a disable switch for the automatic engine stop-start system.
Outside, the new Traverse debuts new styling, which can be finished in eight exterior colors, three of which are new for the 2022 model year.
The trim level lineup includes deletion of the base-level L trim, thus designating the LS trim as the least-expensive trim available for the 2022 model year.
The 2022 Chevy Traverse will hit production at GM’s Lansing Delta Township facility in Michigan on August 2nd, 2021.
