22 Reasons To Buy The Pixel 9 Pro According To Google

Google has confirmed the launch of its Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones on August 13. Three days before today, they released two 30-second teaser videos showing both phones, with no mention of a Pixel 9 Pro XL model, as rumored. The brand seems to be proud of its latest flagships and has even shared 22 reasons why you should buy them in a new YouTube Short.

22 Reasons Why: The Pixel Edition

Google is so confident in its phones that it has shared many reasons why they’re worth your money. They’ve posted an 8-second video on YouTube with supposedly 22 random reasons appearing on the screen, although we counted 24. Either way, it’s a good thing, considering that more reasons to buy a device are better than less.

The reasons run so fast that you must pause the video to see one, which is quite fun. It’s not unlike Google to add a playful twist to its advertisements. Luckily, I had the time to pause and rewatch the video. Here are all the things you’ll say “Goodbye” to once you buy a Pixel 9 phone:

  • Scrubbing videos for answers.
  • Wishing your photo had more scenery.
  • Phone calls where you can barely hear the other person.
  • Concert videos that look too far away.
  • Your toddler is looking everywhere except the camera.
  • So many emails, so little time.
  • Spending hours on hold.
  • Gatekeeping.
  • Forgetting the show your friend recommended.
  • Half the fam looking at the camera.
  • Screening calls yourself.
  • Not capturing the right moment.
  • The sky not being right.
  • The same old memes.
  • Lost in translation
  • Blurry photos.
  • Photo bombers
  • Awkward photo requests from strangers
  • Forgetting the movie your friend recommended.
  • Forgetting the show your friend recommended.
  • Forgetting what restaurant your friend liked.
  • Mom never being in the pic.
  • Photobombers.
  • Writer’s block.

You May Be Familiar With Some Pixel 9 Features

My favorite reason on the list is the first one, considering that I had to slow down playback speed to catch all the items. It passes the Pixel 9’s marketing message well, and suggests more capable AI-powered features. Other reasons look familiar, such as “Your toddler looking everywhere except the camera”. It reminds me of the Best Take feature on the Pixel 8 series.

Best Take is designed for group photos where people may have blinked, looked away, or made an unflattering expression in one or more shots. The feature analyzes multiple images you’ve taken quickly and suggests the best combination of faces.

“Screening calls yourself” may sound familiar if you own a Pixel 8 phone. Call Screen helps you manage incoming calls, especially those from unknown or suspicious numbers. It acts as a virtual assistant, answering the call on your behalf and providing a real-time transcript of the conversation.

As aforementioned, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold phones will appear officially at the upcoming Made by Google event. It’s scheduled for 10 AM Pacific Time (PT) at the company’s Mountain View, California headquarters. You can catch the event live on YouTube or the Google Store website.
