It’s compatible with iPhones running at least iOS 10 or higher, so any iPhone from the last decade should be good for this. For wireless Android Auto, however, you’ll need at least Android 11—Android 10 in the case of most Google/Samsung phones, and Android 9 in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S8/Note 8 series. This is not particularly restrictive, considering Android 11 was released in 2020, but it does mean some older Android phones will still need to be plugged in even if they are typically compatible with Android Auto.
