Boost Mobile Is Adding Tablets And Smartwatches

Summary

  • Boost Mobile expands offerings to include tablets & smartwatches, starting with Apple products.
  • Plans priced at $20 for iPad & $10 for Watch. Plans are independent of cellphone line.
  • Existing customers eligible for $100 discount with 36-month financing agreement. Limited-time offer.

You typically get phones through carriers, but with the rise of other kinds of devices with cellular support, lines are needed for those devices as well. Most carriers offer tablet and smartwatch lines, and now, Boost Mobile is joining the fray.

Boost Mobile announced today it is expanding its device offerings for the first time to include tablets and smartwatches, starting off with popular Apple products. The mobile service provider will now sell various models of Apple iPad and Apple Watch directly to its customers, accompanied by new dedicated monthly data plans.

There’s a tablet plan priced at $20 per month, designed for cellular-enabled iPads, and we also have a smartwatch plan, priced at $10 per month, intended for cellular models of the Apple Watch. Both of these lines would be complementary to your cellphone line on your phone, and you’d just pay the extra flat fee to add data to your secondary devices. These plans allow the devices to connect to Boost Mobile’s network independently, enabling you to stay connected even when your smartphone is not nearby.

To encourage adoption, Boost Mobile is launching limited-time promotional offers specifically for its current customer base who have an active phone line. On the smartwatch side, existing customers can receive a $100 discount on the purchase of a new Apple Watch when they activate it on the $10 per month Smartwatch Plan and commit to a 36-month device financing agreement. Similarly, existing customers are eligible for a $100 discount on a new iPad purchase when activating it on the $20 per month Tablet Plan, also requiring a 36-month financing agreement.
