When the OnePlus 13T smartphone arrived last week launched we feared it would not see the light of day outside of its Chinese homeland.
And while that’s not entirely the case (the phone is coming to India), a European or North American launch isn’t happening for this phone… at least for the time being.
OnePlus has confirmed to The Verge that “currently, we have no plans to launch the OnePlus 13s in Europe. That being said, we have noted the interest in the product from our European users, and we will keep it in mind as we make product launch decisions going forward.”
A second statement echoed the sentiment for the North American market, meaning no joy for people in the United States and Canada either for the time being.
And that’s sad because we were certainly intrigued by the compact screen with flagship-level specs – something that’s not all that common these days, and something that may have seen the phone join our best Android phones of 2025.
OnePlus fans in the UK will have to settle the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13R, both of which are available at a discount. Those phones have 6.8-inch displays and 6,000 mAh batteries.
However, a more pocket-friendly phone with an even better battery life would have been nice wouldn’t it?
Opinion
No surprises here. We weren’t expecting a liberal launch for this phone. But I wonder how much the current climate of tariffs is playing into OnePlus’ decision?
Might we see more and more China-only launches from big name companies because they have to choose between hiking prices to cover costs, or making a loss on devices?
