It’s no secret that Sonos’ first-ever pair of headphones didn’t exactly have the best launch, but this offer might bring the cans some good favour.
Sonos is known for delivering some of the best audio devices on the market (we should know as we’ve reviewed them all). Unfortunately, the Sonos Ace just fell short of those expectations, even though they’re still a great pair of headphones, and the bad publicity surrounding changes to the Sonos app didn’t help things either.
However, I’ve been using a pair of Sonos Ace for a few months now and I’ve been so impressed with them that they’ve completely surpassed my initial expectations. To make things even better for anyone who might be intrigued, the Sonos Ace now have a slick $100 discount, bringing them down to just $349 on the company’s official website.
The Sonos Ace now have $100 off
The Sonos Ace have finally been brought down to a competitive price point, making them a bargain for those who want robust audio and powerful ANC, all in a sleek and comfortable design.
At their original full price of $449, I’d argue that the Sonos Ace were simply far too expensive, but at $349 they’re far more in line with the competition and much easier to recommend.
Even though I now adore the Sonos Ace, I’ll be the first to admit that they don’t quite surpass the Sony WH-1000XM5 or the Bose QuietComfort Headphones on audio quality or noise cancelling respectively – but they do come incredibly close.
There’s a wonderful depth to the sound that really makes it feel as if you’re hearing every layer of a track concurrently, even at lower volumes. Similarly, the ANC is great – arguably a little too great.
I’ve lost count of the times that I’ve been cooking, listening to a podcast on the Sonos Ace and haven’t registered that my wife’s come through the door. It’s why they’re now my go-to audio device when working in a busy cafe.
In addition to all that, the secret weapon of the Sonos Ace is the TV Swap feature which lets you beam the audio from your Sonos soundbar directly to the headphones. This means you can enjoy a spot of TV or gaming without anyone else hearing a peep – handy for when everyone else has gone to bed.
If your existing headphones are starting to show their age and you’re in market for a proper flagship upgrade then I can’t recommend the Sonos Ace enough, particularly when they’re at such a discounted price.
