Mint Mobile is a US MVNO owned by T-Mobile. For those who want the reliability of T-Mobile’s network, but in a prepaid form, Mint Mobile is a great option. The only thing is, you don’t get the variety that T-Mobile gives you, such as the option for a home internet plan. Mint solely focuses on mobile plans.
Or at least, that’s how it has been for quite some time now. Mint Mobile now has home internet plans, which is great. However, there’s a big catch, at least for now. You will have to be exclusively invited to hop on board, as Mint Mobile’s Home Internet offerings are not open to everyone, at least for the time being.
Mint Mobile Adopts T-Mobile’s Home Internet Plans for Select Users
If you’re a Mint Mobile user, it’d be nice to extend your loyalty to the brand to other carrier-related services that you have at home, such as home internet. However, for the longest time, the carrier has had no options in that regard. That’s despite having such a big connection to T-Mobile, a carrier that has a very solid foundation in internet plans.
Well, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that Mint Mobile is now offering Home Internet plans, which is cool. However, the bad news is that you won’t be able to jump onto any of these plans unless you’re specifically selected for it via an email invite. That means that most Mint Mobile customers will likely not have a chance for it, or even know that it exists, since there’s no indication of it on the official website.
The plans seem to be borrowed directly from T-Mobile, as they come with the exact same names that we’re used to from the big carrier. Here are the available plans, their respective monthly prices, and some perks that they bring.
Monthly Price (with Autopay) | Perks | |
Rely | $35 | N/A |
Amplified | $45 | Advanced Cyber Security, improved 5G Gateway with higher capacity and faster speeds |
All-In | $55 | Amplified Perks + Mesh Unit for more home coverage, Paramount+ and Hulu for free, 24/7 tech support |
It’s also important to keep in mind that you’ll be getting a 5-year price guarantee with any of these plans, so you can stay locked into these prices until 2030.
T-Mobile Doesn’t Make the Criteria for Invitation Known
The internet plans being offered are a good deal for most people, and the perks just make things better. However, if you don’t receive the email, then you simply won’t get the chance to join the fun, and that’s a pity. This Reddit post gave us a chance to actually see the images included in the email.
It’s rather annoying because it isn’t clear what Mint is using to make some people eligible for this deal. The only other way to get T-Mobile’s Home Internet at a similar price would be to open a T-Mobile voice line, and that’s something that most people won’t want to do, especially when they’re already locked in with Mint Mobile.
