Fallen Feathers Launching in July, Preorders Now Open

Perhaps no genre in gaming has seen a steadier rise in popularity in recent years than soulslikes. From Lies of P to Enotria: The Last Song to, of course, Elden Ring, this generation has been packed with excellent soulslikes, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is looking to become your next favorite soulslike.

It’ll arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Gamepass on July 24, 2025. It appears to be a digital-only release at the moment, but that may change at launch or after the game releases.

Preorders Are Now Live

While many games are now being priced at $70 (and Nintendo is making a push for $80 with Mario Kart World and others), we’ve also seen plenty of variable pricing this year. Two of 2025’s biggest games came in at $50, Split Fiction and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers looks to join them as the standard edition will run you $49.99 while the deluxe edition comes out to $59.99. If you’re eager to make your purchase, you can preorder Wuchang: Fallen Feathers now. Preorders of either edition will net you bonus in-game items.

Preorder for the “Night & White” Pack:

  • Night Spectre Enhanced Costume Set
  • White Spectre Enhanced Costume Set
  • Vermillion War Club (Axe)
  • Glistening Red Mercury Skill Upgrade Item

Both costume sets contain five costume pieces each. The sets may be sold at a later date as well for those who don’t preorder Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Like most games this generation, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will have a deluxe edition releasing alongside the standard edition. It comes packed with alternate costumes and several weapons. And, as with the preorder bonuses, the costumes in the deluxe edition may be sold separately down the line.

Deluxe Edition Items:

  • Tiger of Fortune Costume
  • Draconic Resurgence Costume
  • Soul Ritual Robe Costume
  • Overlord’s Regalia Costume
  • Watcher’s Gaze (Sword)
  • Dragoncoil Lance (Spear)
  • Eternal Sovereignty (Dual Blades)
  • Moonlight Dragon (Sword)
  • One Skill Upgrade Item, the Blood of Changhong Skill

Inspired by Ancient Chinese Mythology

Like other soulslikes before it Black Myth: Wukong and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers draws inspiration from Chinese mythology and history. Set in the late Ming Dynasty, you play as Wuchang, “a skilled pirate warrior struck by amnesia, who must navigate the uncertainties of her mysterious past while afflicted by the horrific Feathering disease,”

This illness is the cause of truly horrific monsters that lurk the lands, giving Wuchang plenty of enemies and bosses to battle against.

Wuchang will “uncover hidden secrets and battle supernatural enemies in an ancient empire teetering on the edge of collapse.” It’ll be up to you to bring her memories back, and the choices you make along your journey will influence the game’s ending.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers comes from Leenzee Games, a Chinese studio “focused on creating atmospheric, story-rich experiences that blend Eastern mythology with modern game design.” The studio’s previous title is A.D. 2047, a sci-fi VR game.
