Price and Availability

The Eufy Omni E28 Robot Vacuum retails for $999 and is available from a number of retailers, including Amazon and directly from Eufy.

Design and Unboxing

Even with all the features, the Eufy Omni E28 doesn’t take up as much room as other robot vacuum/mop combos from other manufacturers. That’s great news, especially if you have a smaller apartment or home.

The base station is 14.6 inches wide, 19.2 inches long, and 17.3 inches deep. Getting set up just takes a few minutes. You’ll need to take the base station from the packaging and then attach the spot cleaner on top of that. The clean water tank and detergent need to be filled. Then, take the robot vacuum and place it into the dock.

Because of the unique design and features, the dirty water tank and vacuum bag take a bit of work to access, but that wasn’t a huge problem for me.

After plugging in the power cord, you’ll need to open up the companion Eufy app and finish the setup. The entire process took less than 5 minutes.

Strong Vacuum Suction With Two Great Features

Even though the Omni E28 has a host of additional bells and whistles, the vacuum portion is still likely the most important feature.

Thanks to 20,000Pa of suction, the Omni E28 is one of the best on the market. It had no issues tackling whatever ended up on my floors, including dog food, rice, flour, and more.

Two features helped the vacuum stand out. The first is the CornerRover Arm. Many robot vacuums on the market have a similar arm that can help find a mess on the floor, and kick it up enough for the vacuum to make quick use of it. But with the E28, the arm will extend out automatically in corners, often a trouble spot for round-shaped vacuums. Watching the E28 in action, it was nice to see it grab some significant dust and dirt that had accumulated in corners.

Another problem with robot vacuums is hair from humans and furry friends. Even with just a little bit of use, the hair can easily tangle on the vacuum brushes, causing them not to operate as efficiently or completely stop the brush from rotating. To take care of tangles, you’ll usually need to do the dirty work yourself and manually cut or peel away the hair.

Eufy has designed a unique system to make the problem a thing of the past. While vacuuming, dual brushes use forward rotation to lift and channel the hair and fur directly into the robot. When at the docking station, the brushes will then retract and rotate in both directions to funnel everything into the collection bag.

I was a bit skeptical after using other robot vacuums that claim to be tangle-free, but the E28 won me over. After some significant use, there was no hair or fur to be found anywhere near the brushes. That’s one less maintenance worry.

Just like most modern, high-end robot vacuums, the E28 features avoidance features so it won’t get caught on cords or other objects left on the floor.

A Mop That Stays Clean and Tackles Pretty Much Anything

The E28 shows how far the mopping technology of combo units has advanced. Mopping is done with an 11-inch roller adjacent to the vacuum that is constantly spinning while working. You can customize how much water is used in the companion app. If the floor is dirtier, more water will work best to help clean it.

WIth the system, you won’t need to worry about the roller itself sucking up whatever it cleans and spreading it around the house. After cleaning dirt and messes, it will then get refreshed with clean water and detergent. Next, the dirty water will be squeezed out into the specific reservoir. The roller will be cleaned once again on the dock with warm water, drying it off to prevent bad smells.

While the roller keeps clean while working, it also applies more than 3.3 pounds of downward force to mimic a real person pushing down to get the stain out.

Results were as strong as the vacuum. I never try to create stress tests for the robot vacuums I test, preferring to just try one out on my normal messes that always seem to pile up around my home. I used the E28 to clean up muddy paw prints, dried milk, a dried sauce spill of some kind, and more, and each time, the mop made quick work of the stain.

The Spot Cleaner Takes Top Honors

The top highlight of the Omni E28 is the portable spot cleaner, a first for any robot vacuum. You probably have seen other standalone spot cleaners, and the unit works similarly. When you’re ready to clean, just unplug the power and then remove the cleaner from the base station. Plug it back in wherever you’re working to get started. It has its own dedicated power button. When not in use, the hose has a cover to make it less conspicuous on the dock.

On the hose, you’ll press a button to spray water on the stain. There’s no dedicated place for detergent, so you can add some to the water or just spray a cleaner directly on the stain. Just press the hose on the area to suck up the water and detergent. Unlike some other cleaners, the water isn’t heated when tackling the stain. But you could always pour warm water into the clean tank beforehand.

I have mostly hardwood floors in my home, so there was no carpet to try the cleaner on. Instead, I focused on furniture and rugs. And on both of those, the cleaner exceeded my expectations.

With a beagle who enjoys getting into messes both indoors and outside, my furniture usually takes the brunt of the carnage. I can easily find mud and stains of unknown origin on my couches throughout the home. I used the spot cleaner to battle those.

I sprayed a bit of cleaner on each stain and then used the hose, and each one was gone in just a few seconds of scrubbing. There were some spots that were at least a few months old, and the cleaner still did great. After hitting all my furniture, I also used the system on my wife’s light-colored fabric cars, and it made a huge difference.

When done with cleaning, there’s another button on the bottom of the hose that will send clean water through the brush and hose so you won’t have to worry about bacteria and smells later.

Should You Buy the Eufy Omni E28 Robot Vacuum?

If your house has a lot of carpet and furry friends, the Eufy Omni E28 Robot Vacuum is easy to recommend. The portable cleaning system works wonderfully well and can help tackle stains on carpet, furniture, stairs, and even in your car. I was truly surprised by how much cleaner my furniture was after using the system. It took care of years of dog hair I never knew existed.

The vacuum, thanks to its dual-brush system and high suction, makes easy work of hair and other dirt and debris on carpet or hard floors. I was also very impressed with the mop that did a nice job on any type of stain. It’s something you don’t want to miss to help keep any type of flooring sparkling clean.
