Athlete Zheng Qinwen stars in new Powerbeats Pro 2 campaign

Earlier in the year, Beats launched the Powerbeats Pro 2, the first Apple earbuds to feature in-ear heart rate monitoring. The debut was accompanied by the “Listen to Your Heart” campaign, voiced by RZA and starring LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Shohei Ohtani.

Now, Beats is back with a new ad featuring Chinese tennis star and Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen, affectionately known as “Queen Wen.” The ad marks her first major appearance since becoming a global ambassador for the brand earlier this year.

In the ad, titled “Fit for a Queen,” Zheng is shown training at a palace-like tennis court, humorously assisted by tuxedoed staff members.

The ad reinforces that the Powerbeats Pro 2 are built with athletes in mind and calls out their active noise cancellation capabilities. Interestingly, it does not mention or clearly indicate the heart rate monitor feature.

Coincidentally, earlier today, leaker Sonny Dickson today shared images of what he claims is a transparent prototype version of the Powerbeats Pro 2. As of now, there’s no indication Beats plans to bring that particular finish to market.

Compared to the first-generation model, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are 20% lighter and offer Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, heart rate tracking, and up to 45 hours of battery life with the charging case. They’re powered by Apple’s H2 chip and compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
