While we previously knew that ZeniMax Online Studios, developer of The Elder Scrolls Online, is working on a new AAA IP, it appears that work on this project is expanding even further. ZeniMax Online Studios is setting up a satellite studio in San Diego, California, as announced by Naughty Dog veteran Quentin Cobb who is joining the new studio as a senior designer.
The main team at ZeniMax Online Studios is located in Hunt Valley, Maryland, so it’ll be interesting to see this support studio grow over time as well as just what this new game ends up being.
ZeniMax Online Studios is part of the Bethesda Softworks studio family, which is expected to join Xbox Game Studios as Xbox first-party sometime in 2021 as Microsoft is acquiring ZeniMax Media. Other teams under Bethesda Softworks including Alpha Dog Games, Arkane Studios, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, MachineGames, Roundhouse Studios and Tango Gameworks.
