Microsoft Edge Canary testers have a new flyout menu for downloads to try out. The feature makes it easier to manage downloaded files directly within the browser and can show the progress of downloads. It appears that the feature is in a controlled rollout, so not everyone on Edge Canary may have it at this point.
The feature was first spotted by Reddit user Leopeva64-2 who shared several screenshots of it in action. You can now pin the downloads button to the taskbar and perform quick actions from the pinned icon. For example, you can see the progress of downloads or click on shortcuts to other tasks like clearing download history.
There are also options to jump to the folder a file is saved within or to remove an item from the list of dowloaded items.
Leooeva64 notes that while they have it on Edge Canary, the it could appear on other versions of Edge as well. The feature appeared for them on version 89.0.760.0, but it could also appear on other versions or not roll out to certain people on that same version.
