The original Legion Phone Duel gaming smartphone had what could only be described as a unique design that was aimed at streamers and its successor has taken that strategy a step further. Sporting a rear panel aesthetic that you’ll either love or hate, the Legion Phone Duel 2 from Lenovo packs in gaming-centric features such as dual cooling fans, a 720Hz touch response rate, and a big 6.92-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
The Legion Phone Duel 2 runs Android 11 with ZUI 12.5 on top and is powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor with a choice of 12/16/18GB of RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 built-in storage. The big 6.92-inch AMOLED display sports FHD+ resolution (2460 x 1080), 144Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and is HDR10+ certified. There are eight Octa-Trigger touch-sensitive virtual keys that can be customized and a pair of front-facing speakers.
The weird layout of the rear panel is explained by the presence of not one but two internal cooling fans, which means that the rear cameras are situated in the middle, rather than the top of the back panel. The side-mounted pop-up selfie camera has been upgraded to a 44MP sensor and should make for a much-improved streaming experience when playing games in landscape. The rear cameras consist of a 64MP main camera and a 16MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree Field-of-View.
The 5,500mAh battery supports 90W quick-charging although the charger is sold separately, although there is a 65W charger included in the box which should still be speedy.
Lenovo says that the Legion Phone Duel 2 will go on sale in Ultimate Black and Titanium White in China this month and in selected markets in the Asia Pacific and Europe during May.
