Samsung is pushing out the May 2021 Security Patch to the positively old Galaxy Note 8

We may not be getting a new Galaxy Note in 2021 because Samsung has switched focus to its foldable smartphones and a strategy of bringing the S Pen to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but those with the Galaxy Note 8 hasn’t been forgotten. Why? Because Samsung is now rolling out the May 2021 Security Patch to the almost 4-year old Galaxy Note 8.

Currently rolling out to Galaxy Note 8 units in Germany, the OTA is said to include the May 2021 Security Patch and possibly some other goodies according to SamMobile, although details on what additions are included are not forthcoming at this time. The update should begin rolling out in other regions in the coming weeks and it may be worth heading over to Settings, Software Update, and tapping the Download button to see if you can give Samsung’s servers a nudge.

It’s not know how many more updates Samsung will send the Galaxy Note 8’s way but it’s likely that the phone will be removed from the quarterly update schedule sometime this year.
