Arkane’s rumored ‘Project Omen’ revealed: Redfall is the vampire game we deserve

    The vampire genre is awesome, but it’s often under-served. Games like Vampyr scratched the itch to some degree, but ultimately fell short in far too many ways. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines II seems to be in development hell, and beyond that, there’s not a huge slate of content out there for nocturnal, blood-inclined gamers. Until now, that is.

    Long rumored under the codename “Omen,” Arkane of Prey and Dishonored fame have unveiled their latest IP: Redfall. With Arkane now a firm part of Microsoft, you can expect this game to be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass platforms, while also dropping day one into the service.

    The quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors against diabolical enemies threatening to bleed the town dry, choose your hero from a diverse roster, grouping up with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers.

    Redfall is an open-world co-op game that is set to release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in Summer 2022. Because Arkane is now a studio under Xbox, it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Given

    The sheer volume of new IP coming out of Microsoft and Bethesda for Xbox Game Pass right now is astronomical, and it’s only going to grow further. Microsoft recently touted its intent to land one game every quarter for Xbox Game Pass, and judging on the efforts of Arkane and other devs, they may just well hit their goals.
