Acer’s Aspire TC-895, our favorite budget desktop PC, is $160 off the regular price for Prime Day

The Acer Aspire TC-895 has long been our top pick for best budget PCs less than $500. The cheapest model (which hits the sub-$500 mark) is an excellent pick for having around the house, but there are also high-end models generally outside of the budget price range that provide much better performance.

Thanks to Prime Day savings at Amazon, one of those higher-end models has been discounted considerably. Regularly priced at $930, you can save $160. That brings the total price down to $770, which is the cheapest we’ve ever seen.

In my Acer Aspire TC-895 review I awarded it a Windows Central Recommended badge, noting as pros good performance from 10th Gen Intel CPUs, compact case, lots of ports, included keyboard and mouse (great for starters), and a generous price. Budget PCs really don’t get much better than this.

While we usually talk about the sub-$500 model, a comparatively high-end option is currently enjoying a deep discount for Prime Day. It has a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10700 CPU with eight cores, 16GB of DDR4-2666MHz RAM, and 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, as well as a 1TB HDD for extra bulk storage space. That’s plenty of power for productivity work, and you can probably even get away with some (very) light gaming thanks to integrated Intel graphics. Wi-Fi 6 is included for fast and reliable wireless internet, but there’s also an Ethernet jack for plugging in.

The case has a DVD optical drive, tons of ports, and a side panel that’s easily removed if you need to tinker inside. The PC comes with Windows 10 Pro. This is a top option if you just need a PC to have around the house for homework, email, browsing, and even media streaming in the living room.
