Duolingo’s New Family and Friends Plan Supports Six Users for One Low Price – Review Geek

During its 2021 virtual conference, Duolingo announced a new Family or Friends plan that provides Duolingo Plus features for up to six users. For a yearly fee of just $120, the plan is significantly less expensive than a $13 per month (or $80 a year if paid annually) Duolingo Plus individual membership.

Duolingo Plus unlocks several cool perks, including an ad-free experience, unlimited hearts, and personalized lessons to help iron out any mistakes you make in quizzes. Subscribers also gain the ability to test out of any language level (great for those who are already familiar with a language), plus detailed Progress and Mastery quizzes for each language course.

The Duolingo team also announced plans to expand its learning tools for languages with non-Latin alphabets, specifically Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Ukrainian, Greek, Hindi, Hebrew, and Yiddish. Tracing games, puzzles, and pronunciation charts will help you gain familiarity with the alphabets in these languages (the Android version of Duolingo already had some pronunciation charts, but this feature is now on iOS).

You can sign up for the Duolingo Family and Friends plan through the Duolingo app on Android or iOS. Unfortunately, those who are already subscribed to Duolingo Plus can’t upgrade to Duolingo Family unless they’re on an iOS device. (Go into your Settings in the iOS app, select Manage Subscription, and change your plan.)
