The Day – Salem Apple Festival is Saturday

One of the rites of autumn is back: the Salem Apple Festival.

The folks at the Congregational Church of Salem have been busy baking apple pies and other delicious treats. They’ll be selling them on Saturday on the Salem Green, and you know how it goes: get there early, because once the pies are gone, they’re gone. In 2019, they were sold out before 11 a.m.

Of course, it’s not just apple pie that’s up for sale. You can get fritters, hot dogs, bacon and various apple baked goods.

Activities are on the menu, too, including (of course!) bobbing for apples on a string, and scavenger hunts.

The money raised on Saturday goes to the church’s Missionary Benevolence Fund and the Property Fund.

Salem Apple Festival, starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Salem Green, Route 85, Salem; runs until 1 p.m. or until sold out; free admission; rain or shine; tccsalem.org/apple-fest.
