The Android tablet segment is slowly waking from stagnation thanks to the influx of new OEM’s making their debuts in the market. We’ve recently reviewed Realme’s first tablet, and today we have news that HMD Global is the next company getting its feet wet with the announcement of the affordable Nokia T20 tablet that is priced from $249/£179 in the US and UK.
Updated October 28th: HMD Global has just confirmed that the Nokia T20 tablet is now on general sale in the US and UK markets a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. In the US you can pick up the Nokia T20 WiFI tablet for $249 with the official rugged case and flip cover available at a 50% discount which brings them down to $20 and $30 respectively. In the UK, you can pick up the WiFi variant for £179 and the 4G/LTE model for £199 if you need a cellular connection.

It may be a $249 tablet but the Nokia T20 is made out of sandblasted aluminum with the display protected by ‘toughened glass’ of some sort.
Sporting modest specifications that include a UniSoc T610 processor, the $249/£179 Nokia T20 tablet also brings 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage to the table. The addition of 4G/LTE connectivity bumps the price up to £199 in the UK with US pricing for the cellular version has yet to be confirmed. We’ve got the list of specs for you to peruse below.

The 10.4-inch display has 2K resolution and is capable of 400 nits peak brightness, with stereo speakers providing the audio. Battery life is said to be good for up to 15 hours of browsing or 10 hours of playback, which should be long enough for most long-haul flights.
Nokia’s T20 runs Android 11 out of the box with a promise of 2 years worth of OS upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates. Google’s Kids Space product is baked in so that kids can explore apps, books, and videos safely, with parents able to manage their child’s Google account via the Family Link parental controls.
Nokia has Rugged and Flip covers available to offer further protection for the T20 tablet. The Nokia T20 is already available to pre-order in the UK for £179/£199 and goes on sale in the US on November 17th from $249.
