Want to set up a smart security camera for your camper, boat, or expansive backyard? Arlo just launched the Go 2 LTE, a smart camera that works without Wi-Fi thanks to 4G connectivity. It ain’t cheap at $250, but it’s one of the only LTE smart security cameras on the market and costs nearly half the price of Arlo’s first LTE camera.
The Arlo Go 2 offers a ton of improvements over its predecessor, including 1080p recording, an integrated spotlight, and a swappable rechargeable battery. It also features a Night Mode, two-way audio, GPS positioning (so you don’t forget where you installed the camera), and a built-in siren.
The new Arlo Go 2 camera gains some extra features when you sign up for Arlo Secure, the company’s subscription service (Arlo Go 2 comes with a 3-month Arlo Secure trial, by the way). These features include one-touch 24/7 Emergency Response support, local storage with a microSD card, 30-day cloud recordings, plus an algorithm that detects people, pets, vehicles, and packages.
You can now order the Arlo Go 2 for $250 at the Arlo website or Verizon. At the time of writing, Arlo Go 2 only supports Verizon’s 4G LTE networks, though support for other carriers will arrive in the coming months.
