Few games have amassed as much hype and excitement as Elden Ring, the latest project and a brand-new IP from legendary developer FromSoftware, creator of Dark Souls and much more. Delayed from its initial release on Jan. 21, many fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Elden Ring on its new release date of Feb. 25, 2022. During the Taipei Game Show 2022, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao alleviated concerns by confirming that everything is on schedule.
The “master version has already been submitted,” according to Kitao, which means Elden Ring has officially gone gold, an industry saying indicating game is finished and ready to be printed onto disks. The team behind the long-awaited RPG is currently working on a day one patch for Elden Ring, which will include a plethora of fixes and tweaks to improve the experience further when Elden Ring releases, including taking feedback from the previous closed network test.
Elsewhere during the show and interview, Kitao revealed plenty of information about Elden Ring and answered community questions. Elden Ring is expected to be an absolutely massive RPG adventure filled with challenges and lore, and this was confirmed during the show. According to Kitao, Elden Ring’s campaign “should be able to be completed within around 30 hours” for most players, with significant amounts of additional content layered on top of that. Overall, players can expect to spend dozens of hours within Elden Ring if they want.
If you’re excited for Elden Ring, it’s worth watching the interview above to glean as much information as possible. Of course, you can also prepare with our full breakdown of the lore and world of Elden Ring.
Elden Ring is releasing for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, and PC on Feb. 25, 2022, and is now available to preorder. It’s still too early to tell, but FromSoftware’s legacy and everything we’ve seen of Elden Ring indicates this could be one of the best Xbox games of 2022, especially for fans of great RPGs.

Microsoft’s ‘One Outlook’ email client may arrive in preview this spring
Last year, Windows Central reported that Microsoft was working on a new Outlook client, codenamed “Monarch” and based on Microsoft’s Outlook Web experience. Originally, Microsoft expected to begin shipping the app in preview in the summer of 2021, and replace the Mail & Calendar apps on Windows 11 later this year. For whatever reason, that initial preview never arrived.
