Following a conference call between Call of Duty development studio leads and content creators, details about the 2022 premium Call of Duty title are being released along with confirmation about the rumored next-gen sequel for Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: 2022 is confirmed to be a reboot of 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, similar to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot. The reboot is in the hands of Infinity Ward, who were also the lead studio for 2019’s release and the original creation of Warzone. The two titles will be released with an entirely new engine with next-gen consoles in mind.
