Dying Light current-gen upgrade available on Xbox Series X, Series S, and One X

Thousands of players may be joining the vibrant and terrifying world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, but the original Dying Light is still a title well worth revisiting, even in 2022. Techland made this assertion even more true with the release of current-gen upgrades for the first Dying Light game, starting with certain PlayStation consoles early this month. On Monday, the studio also dropped the current-gen upgrade for Dying Light on Xbox.

PS5 and PS4 Pro players can already enjoy the Dying Light current-gen upgrade, but now the additional enhancements and graphical settings extend to Microsoft’s fastest and most powerful consoles. Techland is introducing three new graphical modes on the flagship Xbox Series X, while the smaller Xbox Series S and the last-gen Xbox One X both enjoy two new graphical modes. Dying Light’s current-gen upgrades on Xbox consoles include:

• Xbox Series X:
  • Performance Mode achieving 1080p at 60FPS
  • Balanced Mode targeting 1440p at 60FPS
  • Quality Mode achieving 4K at 30FPS
• Xbox Series S:
  • Performance Mode achieving 1080p at 30FPS
  • Quality Mode targeting 1440p at 30FPS
  • Improved networking utilizing EOS solution
• Xbox One X:
  • Performance Mode achieving 1080p at 30FPS
  • Quality Mode targeting 1440p at 30FPS
  • Improved networking utilizing EOS solution

The Dying Light current-gen upgrade certainly isn’t the most extensive, and isn’t going to make the original title comparable to its modern successor, but it aims to make the game more enjoyable and visually appealing on newer and more powerful systems.
