Grab the new and fast Crucial P5 Plus PCIe 4.0 2TB SSD on sale for just $200

The Crucial P5 Plus 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 solid state drive with NVMe technology has dropped to a brand new low price of $199.99 at Amazon. This is a brand new drive, but it has been steadily dropping in price since the beginning of the year when it was going for as much as $300. More recently it has been selling for around $260. Either way, it has never dropped as low as today’s deal.

You can also save on the previous generation drive if you want to save a bit more money. The 2TB Crucial P5, which is also a fantastic SSD, is down to just $179.99. This drive normally sells for around $270, and the extra $20 you save here might be worth it if you don’t have the tech to make the P5 Plus work to its maximum potential (namely a motherboard that supports PCIe 4.0, which hasn’t been around that long yet).

One of Crucial’s newest SSDs. It has NVMe technology and uses PCIe 4.0, so you might need a newer motherboard to truly take advantage of its speeds. We’re talking up to 6,600 MB/s read speeds, which is insane.

We reviewed the Crucial P5 Plus back in March and gave it 4.5 stars out of 5 with a Recommended badge. Cale Hunt said, “It handles gaming and general productivity with ease thanks to fast read and write speeds and low access latency, and it fares pretty well thermally without a heatsink.”

Thanks to PCIe 4.0 NVMe technology, the Crucial P5 Plus can reach sequential read/write speeds up to 6,600 MB/s. That’s not the fastest SSD out there, but it is still incredibly fast compared to even SSDs from a generation ago. (The Crucial P5 for example maxed out at 3,400 MB/s.)

It is also incredibly durable with a max endurance rating of 1,200 terabytes written and an MTTF (mean time to failure) greater than two million hours. Plus it’s covered by a five-year warranty from Crucial, so you should expect it to last you a long while.
