When OPPO first unveiled its Find N foldable smartphone we were excited that it seemed to learn from Samsung’s mistakes with its Galaxy Z Fold series by featuring a cover display that was actually usable. This excitement lasted only as long as it took to learn that OPPO had no plans to sell the Find N outside of China. It seems that we may yet see OPPO’s Find N foldable launch in western markets with OnePlus branding thanks to the increased level of resource sharing between the two companies that fall under the BKK stable.
According to a report from Pricababa and Yogesh Brar, OnePlus is working on a foldable that sports the same hardware as OPPO’s Find N device. It’s unknown just how much differentiation there will be between the Find N and the OnePlus version but it’s unlikely to be vastly different even in terms of software thanks to the sharing of resources between the two brands.
The report doesn’t mention when the OnePlus foldable will be announced nor where it will be released, but hopefully, it will be sometime during 2022. In the meantime, we can look forward to another BKK stablemate, Vivo, announcing its first foldable on April 11th in China, although like OPPO’s Find N, it’s unlikely to be sold in western markets.
