    Meta Platforms and Apple are sparring in comments to the US government, aiming to influence White House opinions on app store competition and privacy.

    Facebook parent Meta told US regulators probing the app marketplace that the iPhone maker’s new rules around user privacy harm competition by thwarting businesses that want to learn from consumers’ behavior.

    Apple cast its privacy protections as a key aspect of its business and said that if they “were regulated out of existence, the result would thus be less competition and less consumer choice—not more.”
