To keep the exclusivity, which has remained the forte of the company, Apple could offer these iPhone with e-SIMs, only in selected markets.
According to a new WSJ report quoting some sources, the tech giant has been preparing the groundwork to do away with the SIM card slot.
The company is expected to take gradual steps towards achieving this goal. Apple first introduced its much-talked about e-SIM technology on its smartphones in the iPhone XS series, back in 2018. Since then, the tech giant has made great progress and its 13 series which was introduced last year also supports dual e-SIM cards.
