Good things come in small packages, like Apple’s sixth-generation iPad mini, which is $50 off right now at Walmart(Opens in a new window).
The tablet delivers Pro-level power in a size that’s perfect for reading, taking notes, and slipping into a jacket pocket while on the go. Standing at 7.7 by 5.3 by 0.3 inches (HWD) and weighing 10.4 ounces, the 2021 iPad mini features a power/Touch ID button, volume controls, four speaker grilles (only two of which hold actual speakers), and a USB-C charging port, as well as a SIM slot and Apple Pencil connector.

The 8.3-inch, 2,226-by-1,488-pixel display, meanwhile, boasts an anti-reflective, laminated LCD bright enough to use in direct sunlight, so you can hold virtual meetings outside (using the 12MP front-facing sensor with Center Stage) or enjoy the latest summer read at the beach.
Walmart is offering the gray and beige models for a discounted $409, while the purple version comes in at $464—a $232 savings on what amounts to a violet-hued back panel.
Each comes with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, as well as an Apple A15 Bionic chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of hard drive capacity. All three colors (plus pink) are also available with 256GB of storage for the regular cost of $549.
The only downside of the iPad mini is its size—and that’s only a problem if you’re in the market for a laptop-style slate (in which case we recommend Apple’s iPad Pro lineup).
Whether passing the time on your daily commute, taking notes during a meeting, or sketching out directions for a friend, the Apple iPad mini (2021)(Opens in a new window) will get the job done—now for a discounted $409—$50 off the $459 sticker price.
