Back in March, I told you about DxO’s new PureRAW 2 software that offers advanced processing of digital images in RAW file format. Today, DxO PureRAW 2 has announced that PureRAW 2 has been updated to make it native for Apple Silicon. It also gets a host of other upgrades.
DxO PureRAW 2 now leverages Apple’s M1 and M2 processors with full Apple Silicon native compliance. The latest version also supports Canon’s latest EOS R mirrorless cameras and has some more innovative options for batch processing RAW image files.
Despite receiving a significant update to optimize its speed back in March, DxO wanted to push DxO PureRAW 2 further so it could leverage Apple’s latest processor architecture. Now DxO PureRAW is fully compliant with Apple silicon. Not only does DxO PureRAW 2.1 use the neural processor architecture of Apple’s silicon for RAW image processing. The software also benefits from working with the M1 and M2 chips at a user interface level. Because there’s no longer any need for Rosetta, the PureRAW 2’s interface runs up to 10% faster.
DxO PureRAW 2 offers a high level of detail and quality to RAW photo processing thanks to its denoising and demosaicing techniques. It also uses DxO’s exclusive Optics Modules to improve lens sharpness while correcting distortions, aberrations and vignetting. The Optics Modules are produced in DxO’s labs and include highly accurate lens profiles alongside sensor and optical combinations.
With DxO PureRAW v2.1, the list of Optics Modules now reaches 74,000 combinations of cameras and lenses. The update also includes support for the latest Canon mirrorless cameras: the EOS R7 and EOS R10. Among the other new camera models supported are the Canon EOS R5 C and the Leica M11. You can find the complete list of DxO PureRAW’s supported models here.
This latest version of DxO PureRAW also has new workflow settings that streamline RAW processing, enabling photographers to spend more time shooting and less time editing. In addition, version 2.1 provides more renaming options when generating files, joining other intelligent options for more efficient RAW photo management.
Pricing & Availability: DxO PureRAW 2.1 is available now and costs: $129 / £129 / €115. Owners of DXO PureRAW can upgrade to DxO PureRAW 2 for just $79 / £79 / €69. Owners of DxO PureRAW 2 can upgrade for free
