It is now an open secret that the iPhone 14 range will launch at higher prices, but the outstanding questions are ‘Which models and by how much?’ And now we may have an answer.
In a research note obtained by MacRumors, prominent Wedbush analyst Dan Ives has revealed that iPhone 14 Pro models will receive $100 price increases. He also believes three of the four new iPhone 14 models will be priced higher than their predecessors.

“While the base iPhone will stay at the same price, we believe a $100 price increase on the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max is likely in store given component price increases as well as added functionality on this new release,” explains Ives.
If correct, Ives figures would see these models priced as follows:
- iPhone 14 – $799
- iPhone 14 Pro – $1099
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – $1199
Storage tiers are expected to be unchanged, meaning top-end prices of $1099 for a 512GB iPhone 14, and $1599 and $1699 respectively for a 1TB iPhone 14 Pro/iPhone 14 Pro Max. It is important to note that these figures are aligned with Apple’s new pricing strategy, which adds a $30 premium to non-Pro models when purchased without a 24-month carrier contract.

The third increase comes from Apple’s new iPhone 14 Max, which replaces the $699 iPhone 13 Mini. Essentially a 6.7-inch version of the standard iPhone 14, Ives says the iPhone 14 Max will start from $899 ($929 without a 24-month carrier contract). The $799 iPhone 14 also becomes the new starting point for the range.
This combination of price increases, model swaps and design and feature disparity is expected to hit customers hard. Last week, influential TF International Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, revealed that customers are expected to spend 15% more on average when purchasing an iPhone 14 compared to an iPhone 13. That works out as approximately $150.
Millions will no doubt swallow this cost and happily upgrade, but with Apple widely predicted to kill off the Lightning connector next year, I’d suggest this is one iPhone generation you can afford to skip.
