Wingtech looks to become key Apple supplier with aggressive expansion plan · TechNode

Semiconductor, optical tech, and electronics manufacturer Wingtech is reportedly seeking to rapidly expand production at its factory in the southwest Chinese city of Kunming as it looks to secure more assembly orders from Apple. A local recruiter told Nikkei Asia that the firm is “recruiting aggressively,” aiming to hire over 20,000 employees – tripling its current number of staff. Wingtech started supplying Apple with camera components less than a year ago when it acquired O-Film Technology, but has since advanced to manufacturing Apple’s Mac Mini and MacBook, according to Nikkei Asia.
