Apple News: After iPhone 14, Apple gearing up for next big event of 2022. Spotlight on iPads & Macs


Even as iPhone 14, Watch Ultra, and AirPods Pro 2 continue to amaze tech geeks, Apple is reportedly gearing up for its next big event of the year. While the ‘Far Out’ event on September 7 circled around the next-generation of iPhones, smartwatches and earbuds, the upcoming event from Apple would focus on computing devices.

The event slated for sometime in October will see the launch of new iPads, iMacs, all with Apple’s latest processors. With Apple introducing innovations such as ‘Dynamic Island’, ‘Crash Detection’, and features focussed on women’s health, there is high anticipation for the October event.

Numerous reports suggest that Apple has big plans to announce new iPad Pro models that will come with the powerful M2 chip, 10th Gen entry-level iPads, and other Macs powered by the M2 chips. Besides, it is also rumoured that Apple may launch a 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini, and the Mac Pro.

iPad 10th Generation

According to reports, the highlight of the upcoming Apple event will be the new iPads. The entry-level iPad is expected to get some major updates. A recent report also suggested that the new iPad may finally get a USB-C port. At present, iPads come with Apple’s Lightning port. The new iPads may sport screens as large as 10.09-inches. Some of the reports also triggered a debate if the iPads will feature a Touch ID in the power button which has been spotted on iPad Air and iPad Mini.

iPad Pros

The October event is also set to unveil the new iPad Pro models. While it is reported that there will not be much changes to the design, however the new iPad Pros may feature the M2 chipset. Several rumours also hint that the iPad Pro may come with MagSafe support and are likely to retain the 12.9-inch and 11-inch display sizes.

New M2 Macs

The forthcoming Macs are expected to feature Apple’s most powerful M2 chipset. MacBook Pro laptops could also come with a host of upgrades. It has been reported that the M2 is Apple’s most powerful processor and MacBook Pros are expected to deliver superior performance. Some reports have also suggested that Apple may launch Mac Pro desktop with the M2 technology.

Meanwhile, Apple is reported to be working on a new Apple TV hardware. On the software front, iPadOS16, macOS Ventura & tvOS16 are also expected to be launched at the October event.
