Satechi Releases USB 4 Hub For Apple MacBook Pros Featuring 2.5Gb Ethernet Port

It’s taken a few years to get here, but it’s fair to say that the USB Type C standard is pretty much universal now and offers a much better way of connecting peripherals and expanding a laptop with an extra screen and links to the outside world.

Computer accessory company Satechi has just announced its latest USB Hub, which supports USB 4 and is designed for use with Apple MacBooks and other laptops that use this newest connectivity standard.

Satechi makes a range of accessories that make using technology more convenient. The USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is a case in point. It’s designed to offer greater connectivity with all the ports necessary for a complete work or home setup. In addition, the 6-in-1 adapter uses the next-generation USB-4 protocols offering upgraded bandwidth management and data transfer, enabling files to be accessed faster.

With its six dedicated ports, the USB-4 Multiport Adapter is probably the only device you might need when traveling. It has labeled ports that are easily accessible with 2.5G Ethernet, 8K HDMI, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (with PD support on one PD charging), USB-A data up to 10 Gbps, plus an audio jack port for connecting headphones or a headset.

Using the Multiport Adapter with its direct HDMI connection on supported host devices, users can connect an external monitor with a resolution up to 8K at 60Hz via an HDMI port. High-speed and reliable data connections are possible using the hub’s 2.5Gbps. The Ethernet standard is backward compatible with 10/100/1000Mbps.

Thanks to next-gen USB-4 technology, the Multiport Adapter provides upgraded bandwidth for video and data, with fast transfer rates up to 40 Gbps, and backward compatibility with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices. For legacy devices, there’s also a USB-A port with support for speeds up to 10Gbps.

This new Satechi hub is designed for a wide range of devices, including the latest versions of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (M1 Pro & Max and M2), iPad Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. It is also compatible with Android devices such as the Microsoft Surface Laptop, Google Pixelbook Go, Chromebook, and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S.

Pricing And Availability: Satechi’s USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is available now from Satechi.net and costs $149.99. Satechi is offering a 20% discount until September 30 using the code USB4.
