Mohammed Mourtaja is a Palestinian student studying international economics at Washington and Lee University. Before enrolling at W&L, he lived all of his life in Gaza. He is an investment analyst in Diversified Capital Group, the first URM-owned, student-run investment fund at W&L, and treasurer for the university’s chapter of Amnesty International. At 16, Mohammed won the Novell Gaza III competition, which enabled him to publish his story in a book with 9 other Palestinian authors.
