Apple Steps Up Plans to Cut Supply-Chain Emissions: Supply Lines

Apple says it’s accelerating plans to address greenhouse gas emissions across the company’s global supply chain and decarbonize by 2030.

“We’re determined to be a ripple in the pond that creates a bigger change,” CEO Tim Cook said in Tuesday’s statement, which laid out a couple of directives:

  • The company is urging its suppliers to take faster action to achieve carbon neutrality for their Apple-related corporate operations
  • Suppliers are also being encouraged to address the greenhouse gas emissions beyond their Apple production, with a priority placed on the use of clean energy
  • Apple plans to donate resources for free …
