For years, Samsung was the only smartwatch brand that could offer proper competition to the Apple Watch’s runaway success. With its partnership with Google, Samsung took a further leap forward with the Galaxy Watch 4 and Wear OS 3, though this meant its watches could no longer work with iPhones. As always, the Apple Watch Series 8 (opens in new tab) kept its squircle look that some consider stylish and others stale. Practically identical to the Series 7, it has extremely narrow bezels that enable the watch’s pixel-packed display to fit plenty of information on the screen.
