Apple Beats App Maker’s Patent, Antitrust Claims at Fed. Cir.


The Federal Circuit summarily rejected an app developer’s claims that a lower court wrongly invalidated a patent for secure messaging and sign-on features it asserted against Apple Inc.

A three-judge panel upheld the lower court’s rejection of Blix Inc.’s US Patent No. 9,749,284 on the grounds that it covered material ineligible for patent protection. It also rejected Blix’s arguments that the tech giant’s single sign-on service promotes a monopoly choke-hold on mobile users.
