Aqara FP2 review, WiZ lights get updated, continuous Matter woes

HomeKit Insider

On this episode of the Homekit Insider podcast, your hosts review the Aqara FP2 occupancy sensor, walk through some new firmware updates, and discuss some major problems with Matter accessories.

Signify-own WiZ has announced that version 2.0 of its iOS app has enabled Matter on its smart lights, beating its sister company Philips Hue to the punch. This brings all of its smart lights made after early 2021 into the Home app for the first time.

Your hosts also went into how to properly install the firmware updates for Leviton switches that helps remove the “update available” badge from the Home app.

We then review the Aqara FP2 occupancy sensor and there seems to be some debate on best placement and use of this helpful accessory.

We wrap up the episode going into some of the issues plaguing Matter users including our own setups.
