As Samsung rolls out the second One UI 6 beta, OnePlus has announced that it will launch the next version of its OxygenOS smartphone software on September 25th. Named OxygenOS 14, it’s based on Android 14 and is powered by the brand’s proprietary ‘Trinity Engine’ platform.
This is what OnePlus has to say about the Trinity Engine platform:
“To bring this experience to life, OnePlus is introducing its brand-new proprietary performance platform, the Trinity Engine, to OxygenOS 14. By achieving greater synergy between hardware and software, the Trinity Engine unleashes the full potential of OnePlus devices to address industry-wide challenges in pursuing higher power consumption efficiency, better multi-tasking capability, and a more enduring fast and smooth experience.”
More specifically, the Trinity Engine features six technologies which aim to guarantee a ‘versatile, fast and smooth experience’:
- CPU Virtualization
- RAM Virtualization
- ROM VIrtualization
- HyperBoost
- HyperTouch
- HyperRendering
If OnePlus is announcing when it’s going to launch the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 then it’s a definite sign that the official release by Google is imminent. It’s likely that the first devices to receive the OxygenOS 14 update will be the OnePlus 11 5G and Nord 3, followed by the OnePlus 10 Pro, and so on.
