We won’t judge you for buying one of Apple’s new-fangled iPhone 15’s, after all variety is the spice of life and all that. Instead, we are letting you know that the Backbone One gaming controller you bought for your Android handset will soon be compatible with the iPhone 15 thanks to an upcoming software update. This is all thanks to Apple succumbing to the EU’s demands and offering a USB-C port with the iPhone 15 instead of the Lightning port present on its predecessors.

This software update will add compatibility for the iPhone 15 series which means that it will be able to be used with current Backbone One units to play popular titles such as Call of Duty Mobile, Minecraft, and Apple Arcade games. It also means that games from remote libraries from Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam can be played on the iPhone 15.

Those buying the USB-C Version of the Backbone One will be glad to learn that iPhone 15 compatiblity is baked in out of the box. If you don’t already have a Backbone One USB-C gaming controller, you can pick one up on Amazon for $99 via the link below.

He currently carries an Honor Magic 5 Pro in his pockets, a Xiaomi Pad 5 in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
