Virginia Tech tight end Benji Gosnell earned the coveted “elite” ranking, according to Pro Football Focus, for his play on Saturday afternoon against Wake Forest.
According to the publication, Gosnell received an overall offensive rating of 91.8 which ranked at the top of Virginia Tech’s offense.
Gosnell, who was credited with one catch for 20 yards, made a major impact on the game Saturday that the stat sheet may not reflect.
According to Pro Football Focus, Gosnell took 24 offensive reps on Saturday and earned an impressive 92.8 in the passing game. As a pass blocker (1 snap) he graded a 65.1 and as a run blocker (18 snaps) he graded out with a 67.9 rating.
Gosnell wasn’t the only “elite” designation that was given on Saturday with quarterback Kyron Drones earning the designation in the passing game. For his performance on Saturday, Drones earned a 91.2 in the passing game against the Demon Deacons, giving him an overall offensive rating of 87.6.
