The topic of many rumors and official leaks, the OnePlus 12 has launched during an event in China with a heady collection of specifications which includes Qualcomm’s new flagship processor – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Besides the powerful SoC and the repositioning of the alert-slider, an old favorite returns with wireless charging making its way into the OnePlus 12 package.

Sporting a refinement of the OnePlus 11 5G design which was inspired by luxury watches, the OnePlus 12 will be available in Flowy Emerald (Green), Black, and for the first time since the OnePlus 6, a white colorway.

Accompanying the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is 12/16/24GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256/512GB/1TB storage options using the speedy UFS 4.0 technology. The 6.82-inch AMOLED display sports curved edges with a QHD+ resolution, 510ppi, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is also capable of super-brightness thanks to its 4500nits certification.

Keeping the larger 5,400mAh battery juiced up is the 100W wired charging with the return of 50W fast wireless charging to the OnePlus flagship for the first time in a couple of years. Those of you that still have the official OnePlus wireless charger will be happy to have kept it. In terms of connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7 are supported and you’ll also find a pair of stereo speakers present.

In recent years, OnePlus flagships have come a long way and are now competing with the likes of Samsung in terms of image quality and features. It seems that the OnePlus 12 is continuing the trend with its trio of rear cameras that include a 50MP main sensor (LYT808), a 64MP telephoto lens (OV64B), and a 48MP ultra-wide lens (IMX581). There’s a 32MP selfie camera housed in a centrally located punch-hole at the top of the display. The cameras, as on previous flagships, are tuned by Hasselblad and support the camera company’s 4th generation Camera for Mobile.

Other important details include the presence of IP65 which means the OnePlus 12 is dust tight and projected against low-pressure water projected from a nozzle.

For the moment there’s no word on when the OnePlus 12 will launch in the US or for how much, but we are definitely excited about the new handset and will keep you updated when OnePlus makes an announcement.
