Our First Look At The Design Of This Year’s Galaxy Z Flip
The Z Flip 6 is Samsung’s 2024 clamshell foldable, and its line is almost certainly the best-known clamshell foldable series. Thanks to Smartprix and X tipster OnLeaks, we’ve been able to get a first look at renders that show off the Z Flip 6 from multiple angles, and it is just as good-looking as ever — because very little changes.
Looking at the phone, it is very similar to the previous phone design-wise. It folds completely flat and opens flat to a 180° angle. The hinge is hidden when opened fully, similar to last year’s model. There’s no change to the design of the cover display: the panel remains the same shape and size, and there are still two cameras and a flash in the corner.

The frame does seem to be even flatter — the top and bottom borders of the frame are less rounded, if that makes sense. Plus, the power button/fingerprint sensor may get a slight design change, but that’s all that seems to get modified with the new phone’s appearance. It’ll be tough to tell it apart from the Z Flip 5.
It Gets The Expected Tweaks Over The Z Flip 5, But Not Much More
Now that we’ve gone over the design let’s take a few minutes to go over what we know about the spec sheet of the Z Flip 6. If you expect bigger screens, that doesn’t seem likely, with the cover display remaining 3.4 inches and the inside display staying at 6.7. The dimensions are mostly the same, except for depth, which increases by half a centimeter to 7.4mm — a bigger battery, maybe? Reports say it’ll get a bigger 4,000 mAh cell.

As expected, the chipset and OS will be upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and One UI 6.1, respectively, and with the latter, you can expect Galaxy AI features and seven years of major OS updates to come bundled. We’re not sure about the exact storage configurations for the phone yet, but we know the base storage will be 256GB.
You’ll get two cameras on the cover and a punch-hole selfie camera on the inner display, but if you’re expecting an upgrade in the sensor resolution, that won’t happen. The cameras on the cover will remain at 12MP, and the selfie camera will be 10MP.
When Will The Galaxy Z Flip 6 Launch?
As usual, the Z Flip 6 and the Z Fold 6 are expected to be released in Samsung’s Unpacked event in the summer this year. We expect that to be either July or August, and it looks like the starting price will be $999. With a similar price and an almost identical design and specs, will you be getting the Flip 6? Let us know.
