Last year, I went to Mauritius for a vacation, and when I did, one of the first things I did after landing (literally since I hadn’t even left the airport) was to get a SIM card to use. Sure, there was Wi-Fi in my hotel, but I was planning on doing a lot of activities, and you can’t depend on Wi-Fi on the road. Finding the SIM card wasn’t an issue, but waiting my turn among tens of other travelers was.

Because of that experience, I know exactly why Saily, a new product by NordVPN, will be so valuable for travelers. Saily is a global eSIM service, and instead of worrying about getting a SIM card once you land, it’ll let you set up an eSIM before you depart (since it needs an internet connection during the setup phase).

The team at Nord says it is pretty easy to use. Before you leave for your destination, you choose the country that you’re departing for (from over 150 options), select a weekly or monthly data plan (anywhere from 1GB to 20GB), and purchase it. After that, you download the application and follow the instructions to activate the eSIM. That’s it!

While you could technically do this at the airport once you land as long as there is Wi-Fi, the safest option is to do it before you leave your home country (mainly to avoid issues with making digital payments from another region).

Saily Says It Is A More Secure Option (And Will Support You Around The Clock)

Unless you have friends with residences in the country you’re going to, you’ll likely depend on public Wi-Fi if you don’t have a cellular plan. Unfortunately, public networks are not the safest place for you, and apparently, 4 out of every 10 people have their security compromised when traveling and using public networks. Getting an eSIM will keep you safer and prevent you from potentially exposing yourself to people who want to steal your personal data.

Plus, Saily claims to have 24/7 customer support (because the last thing you need is for a problem to arise with the eSIM that you depend on). Saily can help you with activation issues and any other hurdles you might face when trying to use their service.
