If you’re looking for a tablet to buy right now, the OnePlus Pad would easily be one of my top recommendations. It is simply an excellent option, with plenty of power and high-end specs. Now that its successor is on the way, I’ve been anticipating a good look at what it’s going to bring to the table, and thanks to a leak from Ishan Agarwal on X, we now have an extensive look at the spec sheet and the improvements the new tablet will bring.

Before I get into comparing the upcoming tablet with its predecessor, let me list the specs you’ll get. There’s going to be a massive 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a 3000 x 2120 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 900-nit peak brightness, and Dolby Vision certification. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be in the engine room, instantly putting this in the flagship arena. The battery will be a 9,510 mAh unit with support for 67W fast charging. The front camera will be 13MP and the selfie cam 8MP. Plus, it will have six speakers, which is impressive.

Compared to the original OnePlus Pad, you get a bigger screen with a higher resolution (and likely smaller bezels) and two additional speakers. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is an enormous improvement, especially as this will be the first Android tablet ever with the flagship chip. The storage configurations remain the same (8/128GB and 12/256GB) and so do the battery, charging, and cameras. Regardless, I do think the improvements that are rumored are substantial enough.

The OnePlus Pad only cost $479 at launch and if the OnePlus Pad 2 manages to stay under the $500 mark, it will be an instant winner in the Android tablet segment.

OnePlus Will Also Be Releasing A Phone And Other Devices On July 16th

I’m lying in wait for the device releases that are coming in the month of July, and the 16th is going to be bringing the OnePlus Pad 2 our way. However, that’s not the only thing that the company has in store for us on that day.

The OnePlus Nord 4, a device that’s expected to have a mostly metal back panel (a welcome return to the long-forgotten material), is also going to be on its way that day. The Nord Buds 3 Pro as well as the OnePlus Watch 2R are also expected to show their faces to the world, so it’ll be a busy day.
