REMspace, a neurotechnology company specializing in lucid dreaming studies, has closed a $1 million seed round, raised from lucid dreaming practitioners and enthusiasts located across Europe.

Lucid dreams are vivid dreams in which people fully understand that they are dreaming and can exercise control over their dream and, under the right conditions, their waking environment.

The capital will be used to develop software and hardware for REMspace’s research and commercial projects, including dietary supplements and its smart sleeping mask, LucidMe, which is designed to help with lucid dreaming, falling asleep, gentle awakening, meditating, improving dream recall frequency, and preventing snoring.

REMspace will also unveil new technology and services to further enhance customers’ lucid dreaming practices. It has hired 15 new employees, including 10 engineers and additional support staff.

“I’ve been researching the practice of lucid dreaming for several years, but humanity is still at the beginning of understanding the extraordinary benefits the practice can offer,” says Michael Raduga, CEO at REMspace, in a release. “We know that lucid dreams are a gateway to new experiences; they can help fight depression, eliminate fears, improve the practitioner’s mood and quality of life, and promote sleep quality. Lucid dreaming is a door to our subconscious mind and can help unlock our hidden resources, such as creativity and ingenuity. We want to make lucid dreaming accessible to everyone, to help people forget about boundaries and achieve the impossible.”
