The New Moto Tag Is Now On Sale In The US

The Motorola Moto Tag is out now, and available for purchase. It’s a new Bluetooth tracker similar to Apple’s AirTag, and it costs $29 for one or $99 for a pack of four. The Moto Tag has a design that fits AirTag accessories and includes a UWB chip for more accurate tracking. It also features a button that can work as a remote shutter for Android devices. Although it isn’t fully integrated with Google’s Find My Device network yet, it’s a strong choice for Android users looking for a tracker.

Motorola’s Moto Tag is now on sale, but you can only buy it from the official website currently. It’s available as a four-pack product for $99, and it includes two Starlight Blue and two Sage Green colors. Single units cost $29, and they only come in Sage Green. The Tag is very similar to the AirTag in design, which allows it to be compatible with most AirTag accessories.

It’s also priced similarly and includes extra features. Among them is a multifunction button that you’ll press to find your phone when you don’t know where it is. The Tag will ring out, helping you to find the misplaced device. The button doubles as a remote shutter button for Android devices,  and the tag even has an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) chip for better tracking accuracy.

Basically, the shutter is a wireless trigger for your camera. You can set up your phone to capture photos from a distance, and take those stressful group photos without reaching for the device or setting a timer. Meanwhile, the UWB technology uses radio waves to precisely locate devices, and is more accurate than Bluetooth or GPS indoors. It makes it easier to find lost items quickly and accurately, especially in areas where GPS signals are weak.

Easy setup and UWB precision for your Android phone

Motorola’s Moto Tag works seamlessly with Find My Device, which Google has since updated and added the ability to locate your device offline. Now, you can find your Pixel 8, Razr 50 phones, and other phone models when they’re powered off. Considering this development, the Moto Tag is among the best Bluetooth trackers for Android.

However, your Android device must support UWB technology. If it doesn’t, the Moto Tag may still function using standard Bluetooth features, but you won’t benefit from the improved tracking precision that the technology offers.

Setting up the Tag is straightforward. It uses Google’s Fast Pair technology, so you simply turn it on and bring it close to a compatible phone. The process will start automatically and only requires a tap to complete. Afterward, you’ll use the dedicated app to customize settings like tag names, alert volumes, and battery status. The Tag has an IP67 rating, making it water-resistant and able to survive submersion. It uses a CR2032 coin cell battery, which lasts up to a year.

Motorola also designed it with privacy in mind. The Tag encrypts location data end-to-end and only shares it with the paired device. It has an anti-stalking feature that alerts you if an unknown tag is traveling with them, and Android users can manually scan for unwanted tags at any time.
