The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE might be the only major smartphone left in Samsung’s portfolio before the end of the year (besides the supposedly region-limited Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim or whatever it’ll end up being called). There have been a lot of whispers about it since the start of the year, but nothing substantial.
That changes now, as thanks to a pretty big leak brought to us by Android Headlines, we get a first glimpse at not only what the device is going to look like, but a lot of major aspects of its spec sheet. Let’s dive into things.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Will Look Like The Galaxy S24+ But With Dual Tones
Samsung’s FE models have provided a way for customers to get Samsung quality and performance as close to that year’s flagship as possible, but while maintaining a sensible price. Obviously, some corners need to be cut, but design-wise, those compromises tend to be minimal. We can see that with the Galaxy S24 FE, which looks just like the S24+, with a few changes.
First, there will be about five colorways for the upcoming device, including graphite, blue, green, yellow, and white. These are similar to the colorways available for the Galaxy S24+, but you’ll notice they look different. That’s because the S24 FE maintains a flat silver frame and silver rings around the rear cameras — besides the graphite model — giving a dual-tone finish. The S24+ tints the frame and camera rims the same color.
The device is also about the same size as the S24+ due to a 6.7-inch display. If you want to fool people into thinking you have the S24+, the graphite model will be nearly indistinguishable. I personally can’t see a difference beyond slightly thicker bezels on the FE model.
What We’ve Seen Of The Spec Sheet Of The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Isn’t Too Shabby Either
So, we know the device is going to look good as it pulls from the DNA of its flagship relatives. However, the specifications are what will make or break the device, and from what we’ve been able to see so far, it doesn’t look too bad.
As earlier mentioned, the device is going to come with a 6.7-inch display that can hit up to 1,900 nits of peak brightness. This makes it both bigger and brighter than the Galaxy S23 FE. It’ll be an FHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and being Samsung, it should be AMOLED tech. It is rocking a Samsung Exynos 2400e processor, which should at the very least, be more battery-friendly even if sacrificing performance.
Speaking of batteries, it will be a 4,565 mAh cell inside this device. The leaked advertising material claims you’ll get 78 hours of music playback and 29 hours of video playback on a single charge. The selfie camera will be a 10MP unit while you’ll have a 50MP primary camera joined by a 12MP ultrawide and 8MP 3x telephoto. On paper, this is the same as last year.
Pricing at the moment is uncertain, though if it is anything like the S23 FE, expect a $599 price tag.
Of Course, Galaxy AI Is Expected For The Ride
To no one’s bewilderment, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is expected to launch with Galaxy AI as a major consideration. One UI 6.1.1 is expected to come on it out of the box, with AI features like Circle to Search, Live Translate, Sketch to Edit, and the new Portrait Studio feature.
